RESOUND Beethoven 2016/17

With RESOUND Beethoven we bring the orchestral works of Beethoven back to the halls and theatres of their Viennese premieres or other venues where they received their earliest performances. In this third season, RESOUND focuses on Beethoven's piano concertos, as well as the symphonies of another master who, next to Beethoven, is one of the most important composers of the late-Classical-early Romantic period: Franz Schubert.

Follow us to 4 RESOUND adventures starting in September 2016 at Jesuitensaal of the "Aula der Wissenschaften", "Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften" and the Landtagssaal at Palais Niederösterreich.

Ronald Brautigam, Lisa Larsson, Gottlieb Wallisch and Melvyn Tan are the soloists that will support Orchester Wiener Akademie on their journey.

Musikvereinszyklus at the Golden Hall | Season 2016 / 17

Karina Gauvin | Wiener Singverein | Christian Schmitt

The unmistakable sound of period-instruments in the Golden Hall, with great soloists under the baton of Martin Haselböck.
The four concerts of our annual Musikverein season embrace a captivating selection of music, from the Baroque to the Romantic eras: works including Liszt’s spectacular ‘Faust’ Symphony, Bach’s great Mass in B-minor, Mozart’s virtuosic Sinfonia Concertante and one of the greatest of all Classical-era oratorios, Haydn’s ‘The Creation’.
Pre-concert talks are given at the Hotel Imperial one hour before the start of each concert, giving you the opportunity to hear these great works with new perspective and insight.

RESOUND Chamber Zyklus

Beethoven Chamber Music at the Palais Lobkowitz

Comprised of five Sunday concerts (at 11 am or 17 pm) in the Palais Lobkowitz, RESOUND Chamber is an extension of our RESOUND series.  Experience the sprit of Beethoven’s sparkling chamber works in programmes featuring his ’Gassenhauer’ and ‘Archduke’ Trios, violin sonatas or his famous ‘Tempest’ piano sonata.  Become enchanted by ‘An die ferne Geliebte’ shortly before Valentine’s Day, or become acquainted with the bizarre “Duett mit zwei obligaten Augengläsern”.
